William T. "Bill" Horton, Jr. William Thomas "Bill" Horton, Jr. was born May 14, 1942 in Riverside to William and Ruth Horton, Sr. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1962 at age 20, just after the Korean Conflict and served aboard the Fletcher-Class destroyer, USS Twining (DD-540). At this time, the Twining was doing patrol-duty in the southwestern Pacific and off the West Coast of the US. Later in her service, the Twining served as a training ship. Bill served until August 30, 1967. He married Janet Blinn Horton in March of 1970. Son: Eric William Horton. They moved to Edgewood Avenue in Delanco in 1972. Bill earned a Masters Degree and taught Industrial Arts in Haddon Township. He also was elected to the Delanco School Board in 1984. Bill died May 5, 1984 at age 42.
